Self-Love Adventure Yoga Retreat
~ for women ~
Yelapa, Mexico
February 11-17, 2025
Inspired by the healing powers of nature, and the enchanting synergy of women uniting, this adventure yoga retreat will nuture your divine feminine, and will bring harmony, clarity and strength to your entire being. Yelapa is a spiritual destination full of healing energy. I travelled here in February of 2021 to help me recover in mind, body and spirit from some very stressful and heavy experiences I had been going through. I had no idea how transformative and nourishing my journey would be. I spent time guiding myself through the practices of yoga and meditation, journaling, enjoying the town, immersing in local culture, hiking in the jungle, paddleboarding in the ocean, relaxing on the beach, eating fresh delicious Mexican cuisine, connecting with the regeneratve energies of Yelapa, and surrendering all my concerns to the Universe. I did this while tenderly holding space for myself to heal. I was coming back home to myself and my divine feminine. After returning to the States, I was inspired to curate a yoga retreat specific to the needs of women at this remote haven in paradise. It is my heartfelt desire to share the magic of Yelapa with YOU!
Yelapa is an an old fishing village, of about 1,000 inhabitants, tucked away in Cabo Corrientes, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It's cherished for its quaint, laid-back charm and car-free, beachside serenity. Life is simple, and the surrounding beauty is awe-inspiring. The word Yelapa is of Purepecha origin and means “the place where waters come together.” The El Tuito River empties into the sea here, as well as another small mountain tributary. It is a unique community - —one of the few remaining on Earth where the original inhabitants still reside on, own and control their own lands. Learn more about the history of Yelapa. Accessible only by boat, Yelapa is just 50 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta, at the foot of the majestic mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental. It lies in the southernmost cove of the world's seventh largest bay - the Bay of Banderas. Many spiritualists believe the Bay of Banderas and Puerto Vallarta hold strong, pure energies in the form of Ley Lines. These energies can be felt in Yelapa. Ley Lines create an energetic grid that criss cross the globe connecting energy vortices to each other. Much like the nadis chakras of our energy field. Scientists have discovered many points around the Earth that have a stronger electro-magnetic pull. It is believed that the ancients knew about these Ley Lines and subsequently built megalithic, mystical and spiritual structures on them such as the Pyramids of Giza, Angkor Wat, Chichen Itza, and Stonehenge, to name a few. When mapped out on the globe, these structures align with almost exact precision along these lines. The energetic affects of Ley Lines and vortices can be felt for many kilometers/miles around. They give off a high frequency vibration that can be felt by animals, people, plants and affects the land around it. When channeled appropriately, the energy of a vortex can help with anything from fertility, agriculture, emotional and mental stability, memory, heightened perception and expanded consciousness. A common thread amongst those who spend time in a location affected by Ley Lines, or vortices, is an unexplained sense of connection to the location and/or a strong feeling of peace and contentment. In the Bay of Banderas and Puerto Vallarta, these Ley Lines are overflowing with elemental powers that are sacred to the shamans, medicine men, huichol healers, gurus, channelers, and spiritual teachers. Their energy inspires artists and writers who live there. They also draw people who are looking for profound peace and a life of spiritual quality where one can evolve in a deeply meditative, healing atmosphere. The Ley Lines in the Bay of Banderas allows visitors to feel a nuturing energy which is deeply restoring to the soul. This retreat is intended to connect you with Yelapa's magical, healing energy. |
Enjoy the morning sounds of forest birds and slow, rhythmic ocean waves. Stroll through lush jungle and be in awe of the region's biodiversity. Marvel at the variety of birds that surround you. Savor fresh tropical fruit & breathtaking views every day. Play in the deep blue Pacific Ocean. Relax in the warmth of the tropical sun or under the shade of the jungle canopy. Eat healthy and delicious, fresh Mexican cuisine. Experience local culture while walking the town's stone and earth paths (there are no cars in Yelapa!). Be nurtured by mother nature and bask in her ever-present, healing energy. Sounds divine doesn’t it? During this communal and spiritual retreat, we will unplug from the grind of daily western life, explore the practices of yoga and meditation, awaken our essence of joy, and restore our pranashakti - our life force energy. The intention of this retreat is care for our divine feminine through self-love and play.
Feminine energy is the source of life. Goddess energy is the expression of our divine feminine archetype. It's the part of ourselves that embodies these feminine principles such as intuition, compassion, reception, reflection, sensualness, gentleness but also fierceness, power, embodied strength and wisdom. Just like Mother Nature - the source of life - we have the power to create. The modern world praises masculine energy: being active, innovative, and productive. For that reason, we are always busy doing something. That, of course, makes us stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. We feel pressured to meet those expectations. It’s hard to be busy and active all the time, and it takes us out of balance. That’s why we need to recognize when we need to restore our divine energies. Feminine energy is about the inner world, and about receiving instead of producing. I invite you to join me in Yelapa where you will be invited to receive and be nutured. Come connect with your powerful, divine feminine energies through both rest and play. Nuture the goddess within.

This retreat is more than just a getaway. It is a sacred journey of connection, healing and empowerment. I have included a rich mosaic of activities designed to rejuvenate and nuture your spirit. Picture a gathering where the air hums with the power of shared stories, laughter, and heartfelt tears. Women, each carrying their own unique strengths and vulnerabilities, come together, creating a tapestry of resilience and support. The energy is one of profound connection, like a tide pulling everyone into a circle of trust and understanding. The very atmosphere is charged with the potential for healing, growth, and transformation. Every interaction, every touch, every smile, radiates warmth and acceptance, building a sanctuary where each woman can rediscover her essence and the collective power of sisterhood. This is the magic that happens when women come together on retreat.
Cacao Ceremony
Step into the sacred space of a traditional cacao ceremony, a heart-opening ritual deeply rooted in ancient Mayan traditions. This ceremony is a powerful journey of connection, transformation, and healing, designed to align you with the nurturing energy of Mother Earth and your inner divine feminine. As we gather in a circle, the rich aroma of ceremonial-grade cacao fills the air, inviting us to ground and open our hearts. Under the guidance of our experienced facilitators, you will be led through meditative practices, gentle breathwork, and soulful chants, allowing the cacao to work its magic, deepening your inner awareness and emotional connection. The cacao, revered for its spiritual and medicinal properties, acts as a gentle but potent catalyst, guiding you towards a state of emotional clarity and profound peace. As you sip the warm, sacred brew, you will feel its energy coursing through you, opening pathways to self-love, inner wisdom, and communal bonding. In this shared experience, the collective energy of women uniting creates a powerful synergy, fostering an environment of trust, support, and sisterhood. Together, we will set intentions, release what no longer serves us, and embrace the fullness of our being, leaving you feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and deeply connected to your divine essence.
Temazcal Ceremony
Immerse yourself in the sacred tradition of the Temazcal ceremony, an ancient Mesoamerican ritual designed to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit. This ceremony offers a profound journey of purification, renewal, and deep connection to your inner self and the Earth. Upon entering the temazcal, a traditional sweat lodge, you will be embraced by the warmth and darkness, a symbolic return to the womb of Mother Earth. The ceremony is guided by a skilled temazcalera, who will lead you through this transformative experience with prayer, song, and meditation. Heated volcanic stones are placed in the center of the lodge, and herbal-infused water is poured over them, filling the space with healing steam and aromatic essences. This sacred steam helps to detoxify your body, clear your mind, and open your heart. Throughout the ceremony, you will be invited to release what no longer serves you, set powerful intentions, and connect deeply with your fellow participants in a circle of sisterhood. The temazcal experience is a journey inward, fostering a sense of renewal, clarity, and profound healing. As you emerge from the temazcal, you will feel a sense of lightness, rejuvenation, and connection to the divine feminine within. This ancient ritual, steeped in tradition and reverence, will leave you feeling transformed and ready to embrace the full spectrum of your being.

Are you looking for an escape unlike no other - an experience that just may change you or provide you with a path to improving your outlook on life and health? Do you have a desire to connect with women who you otherwise may not - forming a bond with new sisters/fellow goddesses? Or maybe you simply need an adventure? If your answer is yes to any of the previous questions, then Christine's Yoga Retreat in Yelapa, Mexico is for you! From reservation through the week of practicing yoga along with excursions and then departure, Christine will take care of your entire experience - just bring your authentic self and your luggage! As a veteran who spent 30 years of my life in the Army, I've had many adventures, but what I had the privilege of experiencing with Christine and my new sisters during the yoga retreat was both unique and unmatched by anything I've ever been through. Being in Yelapa - a place I've never heard of - and leaving behind my home, the business of life, along with my "fancy" clothes and make-up, and being totally relaxed while practicing yoga and having fun, is an experience that every woman deserves! I wholeheartedly recommend Christine's Yoga Retreat in Yelapa, and I will be going again!

Christine’s yoga retreat In Yelapa was one for the books!! We took a step back in time where peace, family, culture and love exuded from every ounce of that town. No matter if we were on the yoga platform or, eating home cooked meals or walking through a rustic town in search of the best fish to eat, we were always met with love. Yelapa is love. Thank you Christine for allowing us to grow in love.

In early November, I went on my very first retreat which also happended to be a yoga one - an eco-adventure in Yelapa, Mexico. I am very grateful for the experience, the exposure, and all the wonderful people I met on the way. If you love, warm weather, warm water, lots of greenery/color, culture, kind/ helpful locals, palm trees, hiking, and are open to glorified camping and a bit of yoga along the way as well as paddleboarding on the ocean, then this would be a great opportunity. I encourage you to invest the time to disconnect and share, in the importance of self-care, nature and laughter. The food is amazing, along with so many other things you will encounter. Christine Malmborg is an incredible guide, host and instructor. Christine is very helpful, kind, peaceful, full of life/knowledge, and makes things as smooth and cost effective as possible. She also has a couple amazing assistants in Yelapa!

Do it scared!! I was really scared to travel to Mexico, but Christine communicated and planned everything for us. I felt comfortable with the whole process. Even when I arrived, I still didn’t know what I was getting myself into but I learned so much while I was there. Meeting and traveling with a group of like minded women was inspiring and I can’t wait to do it again.
